And coils about her gaze...

This writing feels so gentle and sentimental. And I love that I had to look up another of your words - drumlin this time:)

I wonder if this one was written in contrast or maybe just as a companion to your last poem. The last was heartbreaking and called us out and asked what will we do about this, and then this one today that feels like the sinking in to the quiet way our hearts are moved by this life. Both pieces - to me - how we are moved to remember, choose differently, act intentionally and love fiercely.

Really interesting, yes i think I was writing these around the same time but they definitely started in different places. I have written a lot about family and children recently so its a strong theme that i think is just in everything. Just where life is at right now and the perspective I currently have - letting it run its course a bit ☺️

Lovely poem David.

These lines stood out for me:

"Out! Beyond

The thorned rows,

To love unknown."

Love is so unknown, is it not. Sometimes we think we know all about love and then we find we don't.

Very true. And all the types of love and the ways it stumbles through our lives.

'Just as ash trees

Gripped those drumlin roads

That rose above her home'

So many lovely lines in this David. Lovely soft sounds. Drumlins remind me of my home, Cavan. And this piece a little of Kavanagh, next door.

There is certainly a Cavan connection here! 😅
